Depuis 1991, Pollen accueille en Lot-et-Garonne des plasticien.nes de toutes nationalités pour leur permettre de réaliser un projet spécifique ou de poursuivre une recherche personnelle. Plate-forme d’expérimentation, Pollen se définit comme un lieu propice à l’accomplissement et l’approfondissement d’un travail.

En marge des réseaux officiels, les artistes nouent une relation privilégiée avec la bastide de Monflanquin et nourrissent leur séjour d’échanges avec le territoire et la population.

La confrontation à cette réalité est enrichie de contacts avec d’autres artistes, le public, des scolaires, des opérateur.ices culturel.les et des intervenant.es extérieurs qui contribuent à solliciter la capacité de réponse des artistes, leur aptitude à imaginer, à s’exposer.

POLE REGIONAL DE RESSOURCES ARTISTIQUES ET CULTURELLES inscrit dans la CONVENTION EDUCATIVE DEPARTEMENTALE, Pollen associe à son programme de résidence d’artistes et de soutien à la jeune création un large catalogue d’actions de sensibilisation à l’art contemporain : programme d’actions et d’interventions en milieu scolaire, ateliers artistiques, visites guidées d’expositions, commandes artistiques sur le territoire, cycles de conférences thématiques…

Pollen has been welcoming visual artists of all nationalities to Lot-et-Garonne since 1991, enabling them to carry out specific projects or to pursue personal research. As a platform for experimentation Pollen sees itself as a place which supports the further development and completion of artistic work.

Working outside of official networks the artists forge a special bond with the bastide of Monflanquin and their stay is enriched by exchanges with the local area and its people.

This engagement with the local life is further enriched through contact with other artists, the public, schoolchildren, cultural practitioners and external contributors who all help to stimulate the artists’ capacity to respond and their ability to imagine and to present their work.

As a REGIONAL CENTRE FOR ARTISTIC AND CULTURAL RESOURCES under the DEPARTMENTAL EDUCATION AGREEMENT, Pollen combines its artist’s residency programme and support for emerging artists with a wide range of initiatives to raise awareness for contemporary art: a programme of activities and interventions in schools, art workshops, guided exhibition tours, commissioned artworks across the region, themed lecture series and more.
